West Plains, MO. – A Willow Springs woman has been arrested after pepper spraying a man in his home in Mountain View.
On the night of September 12, 2023, at 7:53 p.m., an officer with the Mountain View Police was flagged down by Elizabeth Taber, who told the officer she had sprayed a man in the face with mace for beating up her friend. The officer found the victims inside the residence on 5th Street and found two victims, a man and a woman, who were experiencing symptoms of pepper spray exposure.
The man stated that Taber had come into his home and sprayed him in the face. The two victims refused medical treatment when offered.
According to the probable cause statement, Taber told the officer that the male victim abuses the female victim, who was afraid to “take care of it”. Taber said she went inside and maced the man. The officer asked the suspect if the man had been abusing or hitting the woman that night, and Taber did not know if he abused her that night. Taber was then taken into custody without incident.
Elizabeth A. Taber has been charged with 1st-degree burglary, a class B felony.
