Wisconsin Man Arrested In Connection With Cattle Theft In Howell County, Missouri

Howell County, MO. – The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control recently released the details for the case surrounding cattle theft in Howell County, MO. 27-year-old Jordan Leisgang of Seymour Wisconsin was arrested on July 25, 2024, for receiving stolen property after an investigation led by the Rural Crimes Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control. 

According to the press release, in November of 2023, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Rural Crimes Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control with an alleged livestock theft. A Howell County resident reported that in August of 2023, he helped facilitate the purchase and transportation of 450 head of cattle, from a Salem, Arkansas sale barn for Jordan Leisgang in Wisconsin. The man said that the cattle had been dropped off and then Leisgang refused to pay for it and ended all contact.

On July 17, 2024, a Howell County Grand Jury indicted Leisgang for receiving stolen property, in connection to the cattle theft investigation. On July 25, 2024, Wisconsin authorities arrest him due to his warrant stemming from Howell County. Leisgang is currently awaiting extradition to Missouri where he has a bond totaling $100,000.
