A Ravenden Arkansas woman is facing charges after police say she stole a truck, drove it into Oregon County while armed, and was under the influence of methamphetamine. According to a probable cause statement filed by Officer Kyle Shank of the Thayer Police Department, deputies in Oregon County broadcast an alert on October 18 for a freshly stolen black 2005 Ford F‑150 with a smashed rear passenger window. The vehicle had reportedly been taken in Doniphan and was heading toward Thayer.
Officer Shank positioned near Thayer High School and soon spotted the truck. During the stop, the driver—identified as Marianna Elizabeth Bonney—was partially hanging out of the open door as if preparing to flee. She was detained without incident, but officers noted she was ranting incoherently about her children being murdered, trafficked, and blackmailed, and showed clear signs of being under the influence of methamphetamine.
Inside the truck, officers found a Taurus G3 9mm pistol loaded with 13 rounds. Bonney later admitted she had stolen a different truck earlier in Pocahontas, abandoned it in Doniphan, and then took the black F‑150 before driving to Thayer. She also admitted to using meth earlier that day.
A K9 alerted on the passenger seat, though no contraband was found. Officers confirmed Bonney had the pistol with her during both vehicle thefts. A welfare check at her home confirmed her children were safe, and the owner of the first stolen truck declined to press charges.
She is charged with receiving stolen property and her bond is set at $30,000.
