Woman at Texas County Jail found unresponsive, dies at hospital

Houston, MO. – The Texas County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday that a 31-year-old woman being held on felony charges has died. 

Larissa R. Saladin, age 31 of Mountain Grove, Missouri, was being held on a 3rd-degree domestic assault charge at the Texas County Jail. According to the probable cause statement, Saladin was accused of getting into an altercation with her mother and slapped her across the face. She had been held on a $1,000 cash-only bond with conditions.

According to a press release from Texas County Sheriff Scott Lindsey, Saladin was found unresponsive in her holding cell on the morning of February 3, 2024.  Jail staff attempted life-saving measures until E.M.S. and Houston Police arrived and she was transported to Texas County Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The cause of death is currently unknown and an autopsy has been scheduled with the Texas County Coroner Marie Lasater.
