West Plains, MO. – A West Plains woman is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night. The crash occurred near the intersection of Porter Wagoner Boulevard and 7th Street at 5:34 p.m. on Jan. 18, 2024.
A 26-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released by West Plains Police, was crossing the roadway on foot when she was struck by a southbound vehicle on Porter Wagoner Boulevard. The stretch of roadway the woman was struck at does not have a designated crosswalk for roughly a half mile in either direction.
The woman was reported by authorities to be in critical condition and was transported to Cox Medical Center in Springfield for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle remains unidentified but is reportedly cooperating with police in their investigation.
