The West Plains School District has announced Ryan Smith as the new West Plains Elementary Assistant Principal. Mr. Smith has joined West Plains Elementary Principal, Donnie Miller, and Assistant Principal, Becky Hutchinson, for the 2020–2021 school year.
Mr. Smith replaces Zeb Wallace, who took an assistant principal position at Ozark School District. Mr. Smith was an administrative intern at the West Plains Middle School in the 2018-2019 school year and most recently served as a West Plains Middle School P.E. teacher.
Smith will earn a specialist’s degree from Arkansas State University in May 2020. He currently holds a Masters in Educational Leadership from ASU and a Bachelor of Science Degree in History from Drury University.
“I am very excited and honored to be given the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal at West Plains Elementary. I am proud of our district, and I look forward to serving alongside our faculty in continuing the tradition of excellence in our schools,” says Smith.
