SAFE AND SECURE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The holiday season is upon us as Thanksgiving quickly approaches. It’s also no secret the shopping deals have been going all month with Black Friday also being just two days away! With all of this in mind, the West Plains Police Department would like to share some tips to make sure your holiday spirit is not crushed by the acts of criminals.

- Make sure your vehicles are secured and all valuables are either taken out of your vehicle or hidden out of sight.
- If you are going to be away from your residence, make sure it is secure. Lock all doors, windows, and even the doggy door.
- For those traveling out of town, ask a neighbor or trusted friend to check on your residence while you’re away. The Police Department can also provide extra patrols for your neighborhood.
- Turn on exterior lights as a deterrent to would-be thieves.
