WPPD to participate in “No Shave November” for Shop With A Cop

WEST PLAINS, Mo. — Members of the West Plains Police Department will be taking part in “No Shave November” to collect funds for the annual Shop With A Cop program.

Police Chief Stephen Monticelli says members of the community can help raise funds for the event by sponsoring an officer with a donation. The officer that raises the most money this month gets to keep their beard for the month of December as well.

The “Shop With a Cop” program benefits underprivileged children in our community during the holiday season by allowing local public safety officers who partner with the Walmart in West Plains to adopt students who are in financial need. Participating officers then take children selected for Shop With A Cop shopping for Christmas presents for family members and themselves, helping foster a positive relationship between the children and law enforcement and other officials.

For more information on the program or to sponsor an officer call 417-256-2244.
