WEST PLAINS, Mo. – You’re cordially invited to Joe and Nick’s VCR Party at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at the West Plains Civic Center theater.
Join comedians Joe Pickett (The Onion) and Nick Prueher (Late Show) in a hilarious guided tour through their unbelievable VHS collection. They will resurrect their forgotten video treasures and serve them up in the funniest, most jaw-dropping show on the college circuit, organizers said.
Tickets are $10 per person and available through the West Plains Civic Center box office. Current Missouri State-West Plains students can attend free with their BearPass ID. The performance is being sponsored by the Missouri State University-West Plains University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department.
VCR Party was founded in New York City in 2004 and has gone on to see out hundreds of shows around the world, including the HBO Comedy Festival, Just for Laughs and Bonnaroo.
“It’s like binge-watching YouTube videos with all your friends, except on the big screen with videos you can’t see anywhere else,” the show’s promoters said. “It’s the only show where you can see 80s exercise videos, magic rainbow sponges and cats riding motorcycles!”
The show has been featured on America’s Got Talent, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, NPR, TruTV and Tosh.0.
“Joe and Nick have an enormous collection of hilarious videos! I’ve seen some of their stuff, and it is so funny! Two witty and funny hosts taking the audience on a tour of laugh-inducing clips…it’s like our own version of America’s Funniest Home Videos!,” U/CP Theater and Events Coordinator Katarina Vetter said.
“If you like to laugh, this show is for you,” she added.
