Allen Fay Ketner, a resident of Willow Springs, passed away late Tuesday, March 17, 2020 while at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO. He was born February 20, 1954 to Fay Earl and Ina Pearl (Byrum) Ketner in Joliet, IL; he was 66 years old.
After spending his early childhood in Joliet, the family moved to Phoenix, AZ where he completed his education. Allen was a plumber by trade; however, he worked as a machine mechanic for GE Osmonics filtration company until his retirement. On November 30, 1973 he married Nancy Dale Wass and to this union four children were born. When he wasn’t working, Allen had many interests in life. He was a self-taught acrylic painter. He loved to play the guitar and had a passion for photography. He was a model train collector; he also collected guitars, cameras, coins, knives, and guns. Allen was not only a gun enthusiast but was a huge supporter of the 2nd Amendment as well. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and infant grandson, Travis.
He is survived by his children: Dannell Robbins and her husband, Ellis of Willow Springs; Debbie Ketner of Glendale, AZ; Dustin Ketner, also of Willow Springs; and Stephanie Ketner of Phoenix, AZ. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Ashlee, Gabriela, Gabriel, Mikey, Hannah, Emily, Tegan, Melodi, and Jayden; and his great-grandchildren, Alex and Austin. He also leaves behind his two dogs, Hercules and Abby, who he loved as his own children.
