A Memorial Visitation for Barbara K. Egly, Age 90 of Rogersville, Missouri (formerly of Mountain View, Missouri) will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2026 at The Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, beginning at 12-Noon. Interment will take place in The Veterans Memorial Cemetery-1019 E 3rd St, Mountain View, Missouri.
Barbara K. Egly, age 90, of Rogersville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by her side on Friday, July 3, 2026. Barb was born on June 6, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Lester & Kathryne (Anderson) Werhane.
She received her education mainly in Bensenville, Illinois, with the exception of the seven different schools Barb attended during 3rd & 4th grade; caused by frequent moves while her father fought in WWII. In 1954 Barb graduated from Bensenville High School and then continued her education at the highly prestigious St. Luke’s Training School for Nurses in Chicago, Illinois.
Barbara Werhane married her sweetheart, Leonard D. Egly, on February 9, 1957 in her parent’s home in Bensenville, Illinois. From this union of love four children were born.
In 1965 Barb & Len moved their family to Neenah, Wisconsin. Later, they built a home in Mountain View, Missouri, and in 1976 they became farmers together. Barb also worked at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View from 1978 until her retirement in 2003.
Barbara was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church where she was active on many committees & church projects. She worked on the Back-Pack Program providing to children in different schools for several years. Barb also volunteered at the Good Samaritan Care Clinic from its inception until moving to Rogersville, Missouri, in 2015.
Barb was a giver; she always shared her kindness, love, encouragement, & words of wisdom to anyone in need. She had a great love for her family, Elvis Presley, & the infamous pink flamingos. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. XOXO
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Kathy Kallas of Suring, WI, Karl (Vickie) Egly & Timothy (Dr. Kathryn) Egly both of Rogersville, MO; 6 grandchildren: Amie (Kurt) Stage of Mountain, WI, John (Hatti) Gaulke of Suring, WI, Jessica (Ron) Mansker of Conway, MO, Charles Abbey of Yukon, OK, Chris Hoffman & Kerstin Hoffman both of Springfield, MO, Lucas (Kenzie) Egly & Lauren Egly both of Rogersville, MO; 15 great grand-children; her dear sister Leslie (Gordon) Averill of Selma, NC; many nieces, nephews & loved ones.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her in laws; husband, Leonard Egly; daughter, Karen Abbey; son in law, Michael Kallas; grandson, Nicholas Hoffman; and dear sister, Susan (Steve) Jarosinski.
