Barbara Jean Smith, 69, of Plato passed away on July 26, 2022, at her home near Evening Shade. She was born on January 6, 1953, in Logan, WV, the daughter of Glenwood and Maxine (Adkins) Bowen.
Barbara grew up in Logan, WV. She attended and graduated from Logan High School. She was a wonderful cook and worked in that profession at multiple places. She most enjoyed cooking for and gathering with her family and friends. She also loved gardening, good music, shopping, and porch sitting.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Ken Smith; children, Thomas Jeffery (Natalie), Allen Jeffery (Mindy), and Glen Jeffery (Tiffany); loving grandchildren, Levi Jeffery, Kiley Lawson, Cody Jeffery, Kinsley Jeffery, and Avery Jeffery; and sisters, Sandy (Bowen) Nash and Kay (Bowen) Hodge. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Per her wishes, Barbara was cremated. Private services will be held with family in West Virginia at a later date.
