Barbara Sue Morris, age 59, died at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO, on March 10, 2024.
She was born November 13, 1964, in Slidell, LA, to William Fletcher and Artis Bates Morris. They preceded her in death.
She is survived by partner, James Booker of Houston; daughter, Samantha Morris of Houston; sister, Becky (Dan) Funke of Goddard, KS; several nieces, other extended family; and her beloved dog, Katie.
The family moved to Viola, KS in 1967. She attended Conway Springs, KS, public schools, graduating with the class of 1983. She worked for several years at Wescon Plastics in Wichita.
Barbara and James moved to the Houston community in 2004. She worked at Briggs and Stratton in Rolla, TAG in Licking and most recently at Hardees in Houston. She was a reliable and valued employee.
She loved her family, including fur babies. There were always dogs, cats, birds and sometimes even an aquarium in her home. Her front porch was always vibrant with colorful flowers. She also enjoyed word puzzles.
She loved being outdoors and enjoyed outings to the lakes and springs around the area.
A come-and-go Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 1 to 3 pm at the lower pavilion at Emmett Kelley Park in Houston.
