Becky Cottengim

Rebecca Sue Cottengim, 62 years, 7 months, 17 days old, passed peacefully to Heaven on January 31, 2024, in her home in Marshfield, Missouri surrounded by family.

Becky was born June 14, 1961, in Mansfield, MO to Cecil and Iva (Degase) Turner. She was youngest of six children. She was raised in the Squires community.

Becky was a 1979 graduate of Ava High School.

On November 28, 1980, Becky and Dan Cottengim were united in marriage at the Murray Church in Squires and together were blessed with two sons, Cody and Aaron.

Becky worked at numerous jobs, mostly involving patient care. Her last occupation was as a Surgical Technician at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was a Christian and a member of the Prospect Community Church in Webster County. She was a Pastor’s wife serving right along with Dan. Becky loved antiquing, vacations, baking and going to the beach. Her joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren!

Becky never met a stranger, and she loved people. She was known to adopt other children and married couples that needed care and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Norma and husband, Lawrence Frye, Vonda Cantrell and Rosella and husband, Wilford Clayton; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Cottengim.

Becky is survived by her husband, Dan Cottengim; two sons and their spouses, Cody and Jen Cottengim and Aaron and Jes Cottengim; two grandchildren, Jack and Everlee Cottengim; brother and wife, Jim and Audrey Turner; sister and husband, Marsha and Stan Collins; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

Funeral services for Becky will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO.  A Visitation will be prior to the service at Noon. Officiating will be Pastor Robbie Colten and Pastor Stan Collins. Family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Gideon’s or Murray Cemetery.
