Betty Walrath

Betty Jane Walrath, 89, of Gainesville, MO passed away December 29, 2021 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mtn Home, AR. She was born March 13, 1932 in Mower County, Minnesota to George and Laura (Akkerman) Ellis.

he met Sanford Walrath. The couple married on November 23, 1979 in Mtn Home, AR. He preceded her in death in 2002.Betty was an avid sewer, owning four sewing machines. She made over 500 quilts for new-born babies in need. She had a servant’s heart and was loved by her family and friends.

She is survived by four siblings Raymond Ellis and wife Kathy of Dexter, MN, Carol Brecht of Austin, MN, Mark Ellis of Austin, MN, Rodney Ellis and wife Norma of Hinckley, MN; one special nephew Dennie Walrath of Gainesville, MO; along with twenty-seven other nieces andnephews; extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Laura Ellis; her husband Sanford Walrath; and five siblings.

Private burial was in the Mammoth Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
