Bill Dean Fisher

Billy Dean Fisher, 79, of Mountain View, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on October 4, 2024. He was born in Texas County, Missouri, on February 19, 1945, to Samuel and Rosalee (Brooks) Fisher.

Bill married the love of his life, Mary (Driscoll) Fisher, on March 13, 1964. To this union, they had two sons, Jackie, and Rickey Fisher. He graduated from Columbia School in Howell County, MO, completing 8th grade in 1959.

Billy dedicated over 30 years of service to the City of Mountain View, working as a Street Supervisor until his retirement in 2004. He was known for his commitment and strong work ethic.

Billy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Fisher; his son, Jack Fisher and wife Alicia of Mountain View, MO; his daughter-in-law, Susan Fisher of Punta Gorda, FL, and Shawn Brower of Mountain View who was like a son and considered part of the family. He was a proud grandfather to Sidney Fisher and wife Breila of Lynn Haven, FL, Brandi Miller and husband Jason of Hartshorn, MO, Austin Brokaw of Grand Island, NE, Taylor Lewis and husband Bryan of Ash Grove, MO, Jessee Fisher of Bentonville, AR, and Nick Fisher and wife Jessica of Charleston, SC. Billy is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Rosalee Fisher; his siblings, Leona Vance, Edna West, Junior Fisher, Betty Smith, and Mary Wake; his son, Rickey Fisher; and his granddaughter, Jami Carmack Vance.

In his younger years, Billy had a passion for driving and trading old cars, trucks, and motorcycles. He enjoyed many outdoor adventures including hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren and camping by the river. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, watching TV, sharing stories, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Billy will be remembered for his kindness, willingness to help anyone, sense of humor, and dedication to his loved ones. His presence in the lives of those who knew him will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Leon Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.
