Carl Ray Foerstner, 75 years, 8 months, 18 days old, passed peacefully to Heaven on June 29, 2023 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, Missouri.
Carl was born October 11, 1947 in Alhambra, California to Carl William and Genevieve (Brown) Foerstner.
Carl was raised in Baldwin Park, California where he had a beautiful childhood. In high school he played football and was a member of the glee club. It was during this time that Carl was saved and began serving the Lord.
After high school, Carl spent a year at Azusa Pacific College. He then began studying at New Tribes Mission College. As part of his education he attended Language School in Wisconsin and Missionary Bible School in Missouri. He served as a missionary in South America for ten years. Carl was a jack of all trades but was most proud of his mission work. He and Marguerite met a few years ago and joined in a loving partnership on March 26, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. Together they moved from Springfield to the Ava area in 2021. He was a current member of the Ava First Southern Baptist Church.
Carl enjoyed working with the children at the church, especially with Vacation Bible School. He also delighted in teaching an adult Sunday School class. Carl loved to talk, and when he had your ear the Lord was always brought up in a very long conversation. He was loved by all he touched and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Carl is survived by his loving companion, Marguerite Rogers; his children, Shawn Weber, Carl Foerstner, Chad Foerstner, and Rachel McNally; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, William Foerstner and Elizabeth Defenderfer.
A Celebration of Life for Carl will be Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Spacek. Memorials may be made to the Samaritan’s Purse.
