Carol Hunter, 56, of Gainesville, MO went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 9, 2022. She passed away at her home she shared with Brian Prock. Carol was born May 17, 1965 to Orval and Leota Hargrave and grew up in El Dorado Springs, MO.
After graduation from El Dorado Springs R2 High School, she went on to get her master’s in education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. She was a teacher for many years in Theodosia, MO. She retired just last year after working for many years at the Ozark County Courthouse in Gainesville.
Carol knew no enemies and had a love for everyone. She made time to sit, listen and talk to everyone until all hours of the day and night. She was loved by all who knew her, and we will all miss her smile, laugh, and the hugs she always had time to give to everyone.
She enjoyed travel and loved to go on vacations with Brian after she retired. One of the favorite places to go was Bunker Hill Resort on the Jacks Fork River in southern Missouri.
Carol leaves behind Brian Prock of the home; two daughters Amber Shrewsbury and husband Roy of Gainesville, MO and Maggie Miller of Gainesville, MO; two sons Dalton Prock and Wyatt Prock of Gainesville; three grandchildren Maycen, Lillie and Daniel; one brother Bruce Hargrave and wife Cheryl of Granite Falls, WA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Larry Hunter; mother Leota Hargrave; father Orval Hargrave; and brother Brian Hargrave.
A celebration of her life in planned for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
