Charles Eugene Waller, son of the late William and Rebecca M. (Hicks) Waller, was born October 15, 1929, in Crescent, Oklahoma, and passed away July 15, 2024, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. He was 94 years and 9 months of age.
After graduating from high school, Charles went to a community college and received an associate degree. On March 17, 1955, he was inducted into the United States Army. Charles proudly served his country and was honorably discharged on March 12, 1957. During this time, he was united in marriage to Jolene Claire Smith on July 23, 1955.
Charles worked for Continental Airlines for many years as a terminal supervisor. He and Jolene later bought a dairy farm in the Seymour area where they milked, raised cattle, and took care of their orchard.
Charles professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Diggins Baptist Church for 37 years and served in the church faithfully.
Charles was a gifted musician and could play the violin, clarinet, and flute. He was very knowledgeable about music and could tell you the origin and history of the songs he played. For many years Charles played with the orchestra in Springfield, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rebecca Waller and his wife, Jolene Waller.
Charles is survived by one son, Gary Eugene Waller, four grandchildren, Tia Winona Vicary, Cody Waller, Reba Jolene Rodano, and Dakota Waller, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Bill Waller and his wife, Neola, close friends and neighbors, Jeff and Robin Dill, his church family, and many friends who will miss him very much.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Diggins Baptist Church Building Fund.
