Charlie King LaFevers, 79, of Salem, Arkansas, passed from this life on Monday, March 4, 2024, in Salem, Arkansas. Charlie was born to Charlie Leman LaFevers and Zimery Mae (King) LaFevers on February 9, 1945, in West Plains, Missouri.
Charlie married Della Ann Babcock on February 14, 1974, at Mitchell, Arkansas, and to this union three children were born. Charlie graduated from Arkansas State University and taught Agriculture at Salem and Decatur. Charlie then started LaFevers Construction in Salem, Arkansas for twenty years, then a couple other small businesses, and then worked until retirement for the Fulton County Road Department. Charlie also enjoyed his family, raising cattle, and trail riding on the Buffalo River with his mule “Ruby”. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, friend, and was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas.
Charlie leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Della LaFevers of Salem, Arkansas; two daughters, Jennifer Trammell and husband Scott of Pea Ridge, Arkansas and Charlotte LaFevers of Salem, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Riley LaFevers, Hattie LaFevers, Gatlin Branscum, and Maylee Jo LaFevers; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son (Charlie LaFevers II) and parents.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. The interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Walling, Larry Humphries, Jim Clayton, Damian Vaughn, Bill Hurst, and Amos Borntrager. Memorials may be made to the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
