Christy Williamson

Christy Williamson, of Theodosia, passed away Oct 28, 2023 at the age of 58 in her sleep after a long battle with health issues. A Celebration of Life will be held on Nov. 18, at 2 pm at the VFW in Isabella off State Highway HH.

Christy was born Oct, 7, 1965 in Glenn Falls, New York. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1966, where she later met her first husband, and started a family with their four children and his two children from a previous marriage. After about 10 years, she divorced him and continued to raise the children on her own. She worked in nursing homes for a number of years, eventually earning her CMA certification.

After a few years on her own, she met Kevin Williamson and married him Dec 2, 1993 in Norman, Ok. She was a dedicated Mother, raising six children from her first marriage, as well as four grandchildren later in life. They moved to Theodosia after Kevin left the US Army in 2013, and then he entered the Army National Guard. She stood by Kevin for almost 30 years, including his 22 years of military service. She held the home together while Kevin went on multiple deployments overseas and many training exercises lasting anywhere from two weeks to a month. She worked at Cookies’ Restaurant for a few years before she had a stroke that affected her right side requiring her to use a cane. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the Isabella VFW.

Christy is survived by her husband Kevin Williamson of Theodosia; her brothers Clyde Steves, Clifford (Buster) Steves Jr. and Calvin Steves, all of Norman, Ok., Clinton Steves and wife Angie of Victoria, Tx.; Sister Eddith Miller of Branson; daughters Tina Bushee of Grove, Ok., Crystal Boulay of West Plaines, and Ashley and husband Nathan Peak of Ada, Ok.; son Samuel (Buck) J. Baldwin Jr. and wife Misty Norman, Ok.; stepson Samuel T. Baldwin of Norman, Ok.; stepdaughter Mary Baldwin of Norman, Ok.; by grandchildren Hugh Waters now of Kingsland, Ga.; Tyler Conkey, Isaiah and Heaven Yeldon of Theodosia. She is also survived by many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Christy was preceded in death by her parents Clifford Sr. and Lucy Steves, step-father Edward Burt, and 2 sisters and 3 brothers. And she’ll also be meeting her first daughter, Dorothy, in Heaven.

Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
