Cleta “Sue” Gaddis

January 28, 1942-June 28, 2026

Cleta Sue Gaddis passed peacefully at her home on June 28, 2026, at the age of 84.

Sue was born on January 28, 1942, in Bucyrus, Missouri, to Johnnie and Maggie (Stilley) Pearcy. In her youth, she was known as a spirited athlete who loved competitive sports, and it was at a beloved local swimming spot called the Round Hole that she met the love of her life, Loman Gaddis. The two went on to build a full and beautiful life together in Kansas City.

Sue attended Draughons Business College and Cosmetology School, and went on to own and operate her beauty salon, Beauty Boutique, for a remarkable 52 years. Alongside her own thriving business, she faithfully supported her husband Loman in running his building company and real estate business as well.

Sue opened her home warmly to all who knew her, sharing with them her love of cooking, entertaining, and the beauty of Lake Winnebago. A lifelong devotee of Elvis Presley, Sue collected everything she could find in his honor and her enthusiasm for the King of Rock was evident to all who knew her. Sue was a fiercely devoted mother to Loleta. She loved her without condition and showed up for her in every way imaginable. Sue also loved to travel and took great joy in farming alongside her sister Norma at the Pearcy family farm.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Loman Gaddis, and her five beloved siblings: Maxine Brown, Ray Pearcy, Joyce Campbell, Mildred James, and Norma Pearcy. She is survived by her daughter, Loleta Gaddis, of Raymore, Missouri, Ted Hamilton, and the many nieces, nephews, coworkers, and friends she loved so dearly.

Sue will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unwavering faith in the Lord, and her charitable heart. She touched countless lives in her 84 years, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is now reunited with her loved ones in heaven.
