A Celebration of Life Service for Cody Ray Evans-Umholtz, Age 33 of West Plains, Missouri will be held on Friday, September 18th, 2026 in The Rose Chapel of The Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, Missouri, from 5:00-8:00 PM
Cody passed away Sunday evening, September 13, 2026, at his home.
He was born October 7, 1992, in West Plains, Missouri, to Darrell Evans and Lanettia (Welch) Evans. Cody married his husband, Jon Evans-Umholtz, on October 7, 2025, in South Fork, Missouri. He had a joyful spirit and knew how to find happiness in the simple things. Cody loved being in the water and spending time at the river, as well as cooking and binge watching comedies. His impressive collection of Stitch memorabilia from Lilo & Stitch was a fitting reflection of the things he loved and the person he was. He dearly loved his animals, but above all, he loved his family. His greatest joy was spending time with those he loved, especially his son, Jacob, who held a very special place in his heart.
Cody will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Darrell and Lanettia Evans; his husband, Jon Evans-Umholtz; his son, Jacob Tyee Evans; the mother of his son, Kaala Boyd, and her husband, Collin; his grandmother, Patricia Brower; his aunt, Stephanie Evans; his sister, Heather Moss, and her husband, Patrick; four nieces, Riley Evans, Brianna Moss, Kenzie Moss, and Laken Moss; his cousin, Ashley Richert, and her husband, Dakota, and their daughter, Azzie Richert; along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Evans; grandparents, Gene and Mildred Welch; grandfather, Bennie Evans; great-grandmother, Vada Downen; and great-uncle, Dennis Downen.
