It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Crispina Alorro Gelito (Nanay, Lola, Mommy), who entered eternal rest on June 14, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on November 19, 1937, in Culasi Antique, Philippines, she carried with her a spirit of resilience, faith, and determination throughout her life. As an immigrant, she embarked on a journey that would eventually lead her here to Mountain View, where she built a life filled with purpose, service, and love. Through her kindness, hard work, and unwavering dedication to others, she became a cherished and respected member of the community. She’s the second recipient of a Habitat for Humanity home. The same house, which she so peacefully passed in the comfort of her loved ones. Forever leaving an enduring mark on all who knew her.
Crispina was a woman of many gifts. She was an accomplished author whose words inspired and encouraged others, a passionate gardener who found joy and beauty in nurturing life, and a devoted mother not only to her own children but to countless others who were welcomed into her heart and home. Her compassion, wisdom, and generosity earned her the affectionate reputation of being a “mother to all.”
Above all, Crispina was a dedicated Christian woman whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She lived as an example of grace, humility, and service, offering comfort, encouragement, and prayer to family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike. Her steadfast trust in God was a source of strength for those around her and a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, remarkable perseverance, and the countless lives she touched through her love and kindness. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the community she helped build, and the many people whose lives were made better by knowing her.

Gelito, wife Beth Mantele Gelito; grandchildren: Anna Liezel P. Gelito, Christianne P. Gelito & Stephen P. Gelito, Salome Priscila G. Tait, David Allan G. Tait, Clayton Tait Johnson, wife Jeselyn Rosario, Thea Alexia F. Gelito, Lea Andrea F. Gelito, Diocris F. Gelito Jr.; Mhica Jhade M. Gelito, Mira Jane M. Gelito, Mark James M. Gelito, Michelle Joyce M. Gelito, Mike Jorge M. Gelito & Mitz J-ra M. Gelito; Great Grandchildren: Chloe Gelito, Camille Gelito, Coleen Gelito, Nihko Johnson, and Aspyn Tait.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Diogenes Maming Gelito Sr., and daughter, Maria Pepperrell G. Tait.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she has gone home to be with the Lord and that her legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — The Gospel of Matthew 25:23.
