Daniel Lloyd Conklin was born July 13, 1940, to James Laud and Suzanne (Koll) Conklin in Omaha, Nebraska. He departed this life at his home on April 21, 2021, at the age of 80.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Conklin; uncle, Bill Koll; and sister-in-law, Anita.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Eve Conklin of the family home; daughters, Denise Kalata, Debbie Conklin, Diane Conklin, and Kelly Conklin; sons, Michael Kalata, Danny Conklin, Donny Conklin; nephews, Tim Conklin, Jeff Conklin, and Phillip Conklin; cousin, Bobby Koll, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, in-laws, out-laws, and friends that he thought of as family. Also surviving is his special god-daughter, Heather Brandt that took care of him until the very end.
He was a member of the American Legion, Lions Club, River Grove Moose Lodge, and Carpentersville Moose Lodge. He also worked as an Operations Manager for ADT for forty-five years.
Daniel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He always had a smile and a joke to share. Even through his battle with Lymphoma, he still tried to maintain a positive spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
