David “Dave” R. Kane unexpectedly passed away on May 24, 2023, at 34, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, after a stroke. Dave was born in Cold Spring, NY on April 21, 1989, to parents Diana Lynn Allen and Russell Joseph Kane. David was preceded in death by his older brother Russell J. Kane II; maternal grandfather, Charles “Chuck” Tober; paternal grandparents, Goldie and Harold “Murph/Pop” O’Dell; and cousins, Ryan Llewellin and Hannah King.
Dave lives on in the lives of his mother, Diana Allen; second mother, Diana Sanchez; stepfather, Landon Allen; father, Russell Kane; brothers, Josh Kane and Matthew Sanchez; sister, Sarah Sanchez; sister-in-law, Amanda Kane; stepsister, Katelynn Allen; and his beloved niece and nephew, Merissa Sanchez and Bryan Kane, who were the true loves of his life.
Growing up, Dave moved several times with his family before settling in Houston, Missouri. Dave attended and graduated from Houston R-1 School District in 2007, where he made many lifelong friends and mentors like Mr. Woosley and Mr. Stein. Dave often dated but never got married. Working primarily in service industries, like Pizza Hut and Kum & Go, Dave took great joy in working with and helping people. Dave never met a stranger. His infectious smile would break anyone’s bad mood. Dave was an encourager and always had a kind and supportive word or song to send to people. He was genuinely the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back even if he didn’t have another to put on. Proving this even after death by registering himself as an organ donor to be a miracle in the lives of others. He was love personified. Dave enjoyed few things in life more than attending metal shows, hanging out with friends, kayaking, and fishing. Dave also loved his Las Vegas Raiders! Dave loved talking smack to anyone who played the Raiders that week. He also enjoyed watching basketball, particularly the Lakers. Dave was also a legitimate Grill Master. One of the best things someone has said about Dave was, “The only thing bigger than his grin is his heart.”
We will hold David in our hearts forever.
