In his younger years, Dave and his brother, Floyd, lived and raised trouble in southern California. They were always into something, and Dave was always available for a good laugh, a bold opinion, or a word of advice.

Dave was a man you just had to know to understand and even then, you likely still wouldn’t understand him. Some of his favorite sayings are not publishable in an obituary, his stories surpassed entertaining, and he was never known to mix too many words. Dave was a diehard Chiefs’ and Cardinals’ fan. He enjoyed bass fishing and anything to do with his cars. There are not enough words to truly sum up Dave’s life and the impact he made. Dave was the epitome of a dignified man. He was a caring husband, a strong father, and was truly a great man that will be deeply missed by all who cared for him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brothers, Floyd and Kirk, his step-son, Wayne, and his lifelong friend, David Stephens.

Dave is survived by many people who continue to love him, namely his life partner of 32 years, Lisa Rodman, his three children, Cherisse (Josh) Kirkendall, Edward Paul (Clare) Kirkendall, and Melissa (Benjamin) Hadley. Dave is also survived by his stepson, Jon Clifford, his mother-in-law, Susan, his sisters, Sandy (Clark) Evers and Joanne Kirkendall, his grandchildren, Brittney, Braden, Nathan, Camillia, Bentley Paul, Graysen, Brooklyn, Benjamin, and Denali, along with several great-grandchildren and a few close friends too.
