Debra Ann Chevis, a resident of Willow Springs, passed away early Monday morning, January 27, 2020 while at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. Debra was born June 7, 1957 to Frank John and Ethel Milda (Barbetta) Babin, Sr. in New Orleans, LA. She was 62 years old.
Debra grew up and attended the schools in New Orleans. She was married to Michael L. Chevis, Sr. on February 6, 1976 in Gretna, LA, and to this union two sons were born. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church whenever possible. Debra was proud to be a homemaker and it has been said she was an excellent cook. However, her happiest hours were spent in her garden, growing vegetables for her family. She was dearly loved by her family and had many friends who cared for her. She will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and all who knew her.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law, Holly Chevis.
She is survived by her husband, Michael L. Chevis, Sr; two sons, Michael L. Chevis, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, and Eric Chevis, of Tipton County, TN; three granddaughters, Jasmine Chevis, Abigayle Key, and Nicole Chevis, also of Tipton County, TN and her father-in-law, Wallace Chevis of Willow Springs also survive her.
