Delbert Ray Barton, son of Virgil L. and Wanda N. (German) Barton, was born May 18, 1951 at Hartshorn, MO. He passed away January 4, 2023 at Ozarks Healthcare surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 17 days.
Delbert was first united in marriage to Lois Cook on June 3, 1972 and to this union three children were born: Jeffrey, Regina, and Lori. He was later united in marriage to Linda Kay (Steelman) Meyers on March 11, 1989. Linda brought five children to their marriage: Joe, Vena, Elizabeth, Jeffrey, and Christina.
Delbert graduated from Summersville High School with the class of 1969. Throughout his life, Delbert had several jobs. He was a union worker at Alley Springs laying water lines, worked in timber and the log woods, worked with Clifford Steelman at Golden Hills Trail Ride, and was an equipment operator at the charcoal plant until he became disabled.
Delbert truly enjoyed being outdoors. He loved taking his kids to the creek to spend the day. When grandkids came along, he took them to the river to play. Spending time at Cook Holler with his best friends was another highlight. Delbert liked to trout fish, turkey hunt, and deer hunt, killing both 21-point and 19-point bucks. He was an excellent mushroom hunter and looked forward to this each year.
Delbert was a member of Valley Center Baptist Church, being saved and baptized in 1970.

Surviving are his children Jeffrey Barton and wife Courtney, Regina Gregorie and Jason Hill; Lori Summers and husband Charlie; Joe Meyers and wife Jaylynn; Vena Meyers; Elizabeth Brashers and husband Justin; Jeffrey Meyers and wife Sarah; and Christina Jenkins and husband Brian; brother Wilbert Barton and wife Judy; grandchildren Madison, Zeb, and Lincoln Barton; JJ, Desa, Maisyn, and Weston Gregorie; Skyler, Hayden, and Baby Charlie Summers; Jaylee Meyers; Mason Farrow; Gabe, Parker, and Andrew Shoults; Samantha and Abby Meyers; and Wyatt, Luke, and Tyler Jenkins; and great-grandchildren Paityn and Tailyn Wilhelm, as well as future great-grandchild Preston Rhodes. Delbert was a man of few words until he got to know you and then he would talk your leg off. He loved his family and counted many friends as family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Delbert’s memory to the Summersville Senior Center.
