He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Grandstaff of Aberdeen, SD; three grandchildren, Shannon Marie, Nathaniel Roy, and Savannah Lynn; four sisters, Betty A. Dungan of Leavenworth, KS, Connie E. Womack (Cecil) of Mountain View, MO, Vickie L. Day of Birch Tree, MO, and Brenda S. Huddleston (Bill) of Birch Tree; one brother, Sonny Grandstaff (Glenda) of Pomona, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Dennis served in the United States Army as a young man. After serving, he worked different jobs, from dairy work, to a cable company in California. Dennis then moved to Missouri to be closer to family. He worked for Missouri Hardwood Flooring until he was diagnosed with mental health issues.

He lived with his parents for many years and they were a help to one another. He and his mom shared a love for chickens and pigeons and they often sat outside in the swing to watch them and enjoy the outdoors. Dennis also had rabbits, and a border collie named, Baby. After his mom passed, Dennis took care of his dad as he became feebler and couldn’t drive. It was a blessing to his siblings to know their dad was taken care of and that he had Dennis to help him.

He loved to sing gospel songs with his family when they would visit him at Lamplight Village, where he spent the last few years of his life. He could no longer take care of himself and we want to thank the staff for their wonderful care of our brother. He was loved by so many; the number is too large to count.

As much as we will miss him, Dennis is resting in the arms of our Lord. He is finally at peace.
