Diane Marie Privette was born on a breezy fall day, October 9, 1945, in the windy city of Chicago, Illinois. She left us on Monday, October 25, 2021, another cool fall day. She was 76 years old.
Diane spent her early years in Chicago, eventually graduating from Renton High School in Renton, Washington in 1963. She graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with her bachelor’s degree. Diane had a life full of adventure and travel. After college, she worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Seattle until 1972 when she and a friend pooled their money, flew to Germany, and bought a Volkswagen camper van. They spent the next six months driving around Eastern and Western Europe, then shipped the van to New York, and drove it across country to Seattle. They stopped in Willow Springs where she taught her adoring younger brother how to play blackjack and order beer in German. She subsequently went to work for Holland America Cruise Lines and traveled extensively. She also served on the mountain rescue team at Mount Rainier, Washington. She loved to travel, read, and was a shark on the pool table. Diane will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and all who knew her.
Diane is survived by her long-time significant other, Keith Loll of Mountainair, New Mexico; her brother, Steven Privette of Willow Springs, and her sister, Anita Rego of Hillsboro, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Privette and Jeanne Tuffanelli and her sister, Judith Kimbell of Union City, California.
