Luther “Don” Willhite, age 61, passed away suddenly in Bowling Green, Kentucky on June 20, 2024. Don was born on January 6, 1963, in Houston, Missouri. He was the son of Dale and Bonnie (Spencer) Willhite.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Larry and Bob. He is survived by his wife, Debbie of Roby, Missouri, and sisters, Debbie, Elaine, Penny, and Nancy.
Don grew up in the Plato community and remained close to the area all his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and horseback riding. He and Debbie had many camping and horseback riding adventures. They also shared the joy of feeding the squirrels and spoiling the cats, especially Homer. Don started his work in the trucking industry at age 23. He spent 38 years on the road and has been to every state except Hawaii. He loved being on the road and the challenge of new paths every day. He and Debbie drove together for 11 years. They shared many laughs and challenges out on the road. Don was a wonderful, caring person. He made friends wherever he went. He will be truly missed by all his friends and family, and all that knew him.
A visitation for Don will take place on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel.
