Donald Ray Wallander of Pomona, Missouri, was born on January 30, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Everett and Mattie (Marler) Wallander. He passed away on October 17, 2021, at Ozarks Healthcare, West Plains, Missouri at the age of 70 years.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Pamela Jean Johnson. To this union two children were born, Derek and April.
Donald is survived by his wife, Pamela Wallander of the home; one son, Derek Wallander of Hinesville, GA; one daughter, April Brewer and husband, Chester of Pomona; two brothers, Dale Wallander and wife, Barbara, and David Wallander and wife, Sue, all of Mountain View, MO; two sisters, Gail Anderson and husband, Andy of North Platte, NE, and Judy Wallander of Montier, MO; one grandson, Bryan Keller; one great-grandson, Xander; one sister-in-law, Pam Wallander; one brother-in-law, Johnny Busbey; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mattie Wallander; three siblings, Joyce Busbey, Shirley McQueen, and Terry Wallander; father and mother-in-law, Gene and Mary Lou Johnson; one brother-in-law, Eugene McQueen; and two sisters-in-law, Clella Miller and Debbie Kohls.
Donald worked for Smith Flooring for 25 to 30 years, he was also a truck driver and worked at a charcoal plant for eight years. He enjoyed watching TV, bird watching, loved roses.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri with Pastor Dale Wallander officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com
