Douglas Lee Hervey Sr., 71, son of the late John H. and Mary Margaret (Brasher) Hervey, was born February 12, 1951, in Washington, D.C., and departed this life March 24, 2022, in Ava, Missouri, following an extended illness.
Doug grew up in Cheverly, Maryland. Growing up near the Chesapeake Bay, Doug loved spending time on the water, especially when sailing and skiing. He graduated with the Bladensburg High School class of 1969. He faithfully served a two-year full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scotland. He then attended college at Brigham Young University where he received his Bachelor degree in Construction Management. He was a real estate broker for several decades.
Besides his parents, Doug was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Ann Kirby.
Doug is survived by his twin sister, Debbie Ludwig, four sons, Douglas Hervey Jr. and wife, Luciana, David Hervey and wife, Sarah, Devon Hervey, and Derek Hervey and wife, Ashley, one daughter, Cara (Hervey) Halverstadt and husband, Chad, the mother of his children, Chandra (Koontz) Montierth, twelve grandchildren, Patrick, Jolene, Emma, Elijah, Abram, Isaiah, Luca, Mary-Kathryn, Jonah, Taylor, Trel, and Micah, one nephew, Kevin Kirby, many cousins, and friends who will miss him greatly.
