Dr. Stanley Arthur Potter, Jr.

Dr. Stanley Arthur Potter, Jr., DVM was born August 9, 1943, to Stanley Sr., and Frances (Goll) Potter at Fort Myers, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Aaron Christopher and wife, Jessie; two brothers, Raymond Potter and Richard (Lorrie) Potter; one sister, Carol McClenahan; two step-sons, Brian (Jerri) Reese and Greg (Tina) Reese; one step-daughter, Kristin (Justice) Baker; five step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Dr. Potter served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He came home from the war, went back to college, and graduated from Vet school at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Upon graduation he moved to Ellington, Missouri and purchased his practice from Dr. Dale Bruce, a long-time veterinarian in Ellington. Dr. Potter practiced for 44 years here in the Ozarks.

Doc enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fishing in Northwest Ontario. Other hobbies include woodworking, hiking, traveling, and hunting Indian arrowheads.

Dr. Potter was baptized in Jesus name and a member of the Dawson Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri with Tina Reese officiating.  Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10-11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home.  Interment with military honors will be in Huddleston Cemetery, Alton, Missouri.  Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project.
