Edna Marie (Hurtt)(Smith) Wilcox passed away from this life Wednesday August 3, 2022, at her home. She was born on October 20, 1935, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, to Arvel and Flora (Whiteside) Hurtt. Marie was a long-time member of The Church of Christ in Mammoth Spring.
Marie was a very loving, kind, and caring person. She loved to play bingo, visiting with family and friends, and enjoyed quilting in her spare time. Marie worked many years at Cara Lee’s Dress Shop in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and she also worked at The State Line restaurant.
Marie leaves behind her two sons, Ed Smith and Scott (Hazel) Wilcox; five grandkids, Jason (Tiffany) Smith, Brett (Kim) Wilcox, Amber (Danny) Gibson, Shaunicy (Junior) Maples, and Tate (Sieanna) Wilcox; ten great-grandkids; one brother, Charlie Hurtt; two sisters, June (Don) Case and Imogene Revelle; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Smith and her second husband, Howard Wilcox; parents, Arvel and Flora Hurtt; two brothers, James and Ronald Hurtt; two sisters, Ila (Hurtt) Corbett and Annabelle (Hurtt) Haney.
Marie will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday August 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, Thayer, Missouri.
