Emily (Spelman) Bodhi, age 35 passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, unexpectedly.
Emily Bodhi dedicated her life to her husband, Mike and three young children Hailey, Piper, and Grayson. In 2018 they moved together to Cabool, Missouri from Fort Myers, Florida for a simpler homesteading life in order to enjoy a quiet existence where together they could enjoy and appreciate what mattered to her most; her and her family’s Buddhist beliefs and live closer to God without the interruptions and chaos of city life. Every joyous day was spent with her family in God’s care and beauty. What she loved most was sitting with her family watching the animals roam the property. She broke out in a smile every time the animals and children chased each other in play. She often said it was her greatest source of pleasure and made the hardships of homesteading life the smallest of prices to pay.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Bodhi; daughters, Hailey Bodhi 12, Piper Bodhi 9; and son, Grayson Bodhi 6. She loved her stepchildren and extended family as her own who reside in Florida, Andrew Spiller 39, Aaron Spiller 37, Kari-Anne Spiller 35, and Caullin Spiller 20; Mary Mercier and Richard Mercier, her in-laws who loved her and accepted her as their own daughter.
She is also survived by her mother, Julie McCaffrey; and stepfather, Charles Spelman; sisters, Tracy Kinnemore, and Tess DeOreo; and a very special nephew, Christian Fabrizi; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins that will miss her greatly.
