Eugene Washam was born April 12, 1945, in Mammoth Spring, AR, and departed this life June 15, 2024, in Springfield, MO, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 79. Eugene was proceeded in death by: his parents, Art Washam and Zelma Balentine Washam. He is survived by: his devoted wife, Judy Mills Washam, of the home in Mammoth Spring; 2 sons, Vincent Washam & daughter-in-law Linda Washam of Harrison, AR, and Kyle Washam of Mammoth Spring; one granddaughter, Ansley Washam, of Harrison, Arkansas; his two beloved brothers, Dale Washam, and family, of Mammoth Spring, and Leverne Washam, and family, of Bryant, AR. Eugene has also left behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and more friends than could be counted.
Eugene and Judy were joined in marriage on October 23, 1965, and over the next 58 years built a life that everyone would envy. Eugene believed in working hard but laughing even harder. Whether he was working on the farm, going to ball games, playing cards or dominos with friends, Eugene attacked life with determination and joy in his heart.
As a lifetime member of the Mammoth Spring First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where he served as deacon and elder for many years, Eugene placed his faith and service to the Lord. We take comfort in knowing that he is now embraced in love and warmth and has been reunited with family and friends who have gone before.
The world was a better place having had him in it.
