Farris L. Bowlin, born February 12, 1942, departed this life on January 2, 2023, at the age of 80 after a brief illness.
He was the only son of Sybil (Austin) Bowlin and Farris Bowlin, who predecease him.
In 1963, Farris married Janet Faulkner, and to this union Jimmy, of Wildwood, Missouri, was born. He thereafter married Delores Duncan, and to this marriage Rocky (Jaimie), of Houston, and Tamatha Beasley, of Summersville, were born. He is survived by all three. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan, Alissa, Tanner, and Ashlee, and great-grandchildren Blair, McKenna, Roper and Rainer.
Our father and grandfather was bright, determined and gregarious, with an infectious personality for virtually anyone he met. Farris had the ability to achieve anything to which he set his mind, and enjoyed people and devoting himself to a project to his fullest. The depth of relationships he was able to create with those from all walks of life was impressive.
His intelligence and personal experiences gave him the ability to see the world for what it is – all of its goodness and humor, as well as its injustice. This frequently led to a juxtaposition – his compassion for those in need, and his sometimes fierce desire to right perceived wrongs and soften their implications to him.
Farris was also blessed with a solid physical composition. Despite occasionally living on the harder side of life, it took a simultaneous combination of five morbidities (including his age of 80 years) to finally end his earthly life.
He will be missed.
A graveside service will be held at the Coldwater Cemetery in Manes, Missouri, on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2PM.
