Florence Scott Richardson, daughter of the late George and Florence (Fox) Scott, was born August 3, 1933, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on July 19, 2026, from Houston, Missouri, at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 16 days.
Florence was raised, and spent her early childhood years, on a dairy farm in Gravel Point, Missouri. Later, she and her family moved back to Mountain Grove, Missouri, where she graduated from high school in 1951.
Florence was raised in church and faithfully attended until her passing. She took every opportunity to share her faith and tell people about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Florence had a larger-than-life personality and always greeted a stranger with a warm, genuine smile. She had a reputation of being a great listener and was always willing to lend an ear, or a shoulder to cry on, if needed. She was always quick to listen and slow to speak.
Tending to her garden, hiking at Montauk State Park, and trips to Branson were just a few of her favorite things she adored. She loved, and looked forward to, attending church on Sundays, most recently at Souls Harbor Church in Houston, Missouri. She was also a HUGE Kansas City Chiefs fan!
Florence was a very loving and caring mother to her six children, Jeannie, Bill, Diane, Lee (Julie), Jimmy (Donna), and Jerry. She also adored her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to attend her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Full of wisdom and advice, her biggest concern in life was that her children and grandchildren were saved and going to heaven.
Her husband, Pete Richardson, oldest daughter, Jeannie, and a great-grandson, Samual, precede her in death.
In addition to her children, Florence leaves behind her grandchildren, Josh (Sherry), Andrea (Justin), Ashley (Matt), Angie, Jon, Daniel (Kim), David, Joseph, Michael, Nathan (Ashly), Kyle, and Tyler (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Alison, Ava, Mathew, Juniper, Eden, Annika, Devon, Keegan, Jackson, Emma, Charlotte, William, Delilah, and Canaan; great-great-granddaughter, Stella, which made for five generations; four step-children, which she loved and treated as her own: Cletta, Debbie, Pete Jr., and Penney; brother, George Scott, of South Carolina, whom she loved and adored, and many extended family members, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
