Florence Lucille Albin, 86 years, a true light in her family’s world, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on February 21, 2021.
Florence was born June 11, 1934 to Ray and Mary Ethel (Haynes) Stillings in Arno, MO.
Florence worked in the Independence Hospital Record Room in Independence, MO. She married John Calvin Arms in August of 1952 at Mansfield, MO. In 1962 she and John moved to San Jose, CA with their three children, Johnna, Mary, and Randy. Florence married Jerry E. Thornton in 1986 and lived in San Jose until his death in 2000. Florence married Darel Albin in April 2001 and moved to La Pine, OR.
Florence enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles and traveling the country with Darel in their motorhome. She always said that she’s seen more of the U.S. than most folks, enjoying every mile on their travels.
Family was very important to Florence. She treasured every moment spent with her brother, Lawrence Ray Stillings, her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She loved and was loved by each and every one of her family, treasuring each moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Neil, J.B. “Benny”, and Stanley Stillings, and one sister, Fayma Geraldine Martin, and sister-in-law, Ima Stillings. She is predeceased by her first husband, John Arms of 27 years and second husband, Jerry Thornton of 14 years.
She is survived by her husband Darel Albin of 20 years, brother, L.R. Stillings and his wife, Eva, sister-in-laws, Norma and Ila Stillings, daughter, Johnna Meister and her husband, Don, their son, Steven and his wife, Jennifer with four great grandchildren, and their son, Doug and wife Tracie, daughter Mary Collins, her daughter, Jennifer Bazzani with one great grandchild, and her son Joshua Scott, son Randy Arms, his wife, Mary Beth and their daughter, Elizabeth. We will miss you with all our hearts, but we will never forget the way you loved us, and made us feel special.
Graveside services for Florence will be Friday, March 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
