Frank Andrew Miller

Frank Andrew Miller was born in Alderson, WV.  He went to be with His Lord and Savior on September 17, 2021.  He is survived by his son David and wife Laura of Oklahoma, daughter Ruth and husband Jim Johnson of Alaska / Missouri, and four grandchildren, Melody Miller Trout and husband Anthony, Charity Miller, and Joshua and Jonathan Johnson.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-six years Vivian Miller along with his parents Andrew Lewis Miller and Blanche B. Miller; two half-sisters, Tessie Holbrook and Betty Bratton; a half brother, Raymond Knapp; one brother, Fred Lewis Miller; one sister, Faye E. Patin, and granddaughter Faith Ann Miller.

Frank was sixteen years of age when his father passed away.  He could not take care of the family farm so he and his mother moved to Beaver, WV.  After moving to town Frank attended a church near his home where a visiting evangelist was speaking.  Walking home from the evangelistic meeting he knelt beside the railroad track and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.  He became an active    member of the youth group at church and felt the Lord’s leading to attend Bible College.  He graduated from Shady Spring High School in Shady Spring, WV in 1946.  He was drafted into the United States Army and spent six months of his time in Japan working with the reconstruction efforts after WWII.  Returning from service he was a manager of Stoco Water Company, which had plants in Pax, WV and Coal City, WV.  He later attended Trinity Bible College in Clearwater, FL on the GI bill, graduating with a B.A. Degree in Pastoral Studies in 1952.  While attending Bible College he met his wife Vivian Ann and they were united in marriage in Tampa, FL on January 12, 1952.

He and Vivian were accepted as missionaries with American Missionary Fellowship (formerly American Sunday School Union) in 1952 to minister in the Madison and St. Albans, WV area.  Frank served as missionary of nine counties surrounding St. Albans, WV for thirteen years before being transferred to Denver, CO.  He served in Denver for three and a half years before being transferred to Ava, MO as a Regional Director.  For the next fifteen years he served as Regional Director of the nine state Mid-South Region of American Missionary Fellowship (now InFaith).

In June, 2009 Frank moved to Culpepper Place in Branson, MO where he continued in ministry serving as the unofficial resident chaplain leading Bible Studies and visiting the residents in the hospital and rehabs.  He also led the morning exercises and opened meetings in prayer.  Frank said, “God was faithful to see me through and to provide for my needs every step of the way.”  From Culpepper Place Frank moved to The Oaks Retirement Community, then The Rose House, and eventually to Wedgewood Gardens in Branson West, MO where he was a resident until the Lord called him to his eternal home in Heaven.
