Freda Mae Parsons

 

Freda Mae Parsons, a resident of Mountain View, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Freda was born July 26, 1935, in Calexico, CA to John Frederick and Ethel Lucretia (Webb) Siegrist and was 89 years old.

Freda graduated from Calexico High School and not long after met her husband, Conaway Obed Parsons. They were married on September 10, 1954, in West Plains, MO. Together they attended Lost Camp Church and Little Zion for many years. Freda loved to travel in her free time; her favorite place in the world was Hawaii. While traveling she would collect various rocks, seashells, and knickknacks. She loved to stay active by working out at least 3 times a week. She enjoyed making various crafts, reading Harlequin romance and mystery novels, gardening, watching the cardinals and hummingbirds, spending time with people, and just loving life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Conaway; her parents, John and Ethel; her sister, Lucille Hackett; and her brother, Allen Siegrest.

She is survived by her daughter, Ramona Lewis; her daughter, Ruena Kinsaul; her son, Ronnie Parsons and wife, Shirley; her daughter, Rita Parsons; her brother, Clifford Siegrist; her brother, Kenny Siegrist and wife, Paula; and her brother, Leon Siegrist. She is further survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Freda’s memory. A memorial service for Freda will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Lost Camp Baptist Church, located at 5476 State Route UU, Pomona, MO 65789 with Pastor John Reece officiating. A lunch will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC.
