Gay was born on Sunday, January 25, 1953. Our Heavenly Father called her home after being admitted to Mercy-St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at 12:20 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mavis Irma (Kuessner) Green; her father, James William Green; her brother, Jan Warren; sister, Pat Colleen (Green) Haberman; grandson, Caleb Moon Lucas; son-in-law, Shannon Way Lucas; husband, Danny Ray Volner; and ex-husband, Albert F. Tolbert.
Gay was a very special woman in many ways, she was beautiful inside and out. She was a noble, loyal, honest, loving, trustworthy, respectful, and strong lady. She had a huge heart and was loved by everyone who met her. She truly cared about people and especially her family and friends. She had the talent of being empathetic, which is a rare quality. Gay had a unique personality and sense of humor and sometimes shocked others with her comments. She had a way of bringing great joy, laughter, and happiness to everyone who knew her. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Gay left behind her loving companion who had cared for her for twelve years, James LeBaron of Trask, Missouri; one daughter, Amy Lynn (Spacek) Tolbert of Birch Tree, MO; grandson, Jeran James Lucas and fiancé, Coral Elizabeth Counts; two great-granddaughters, Crimson Monroe Perry and Harlow Shannon Moon Lucas of Mountain View, MO; one granddaughter, Megan LeeAnn Medley and her husband, Aaron Medley; one great-granddaughter, Peyton Medley of Fenton, MO; oldest son, Danny Ray Foster, and wife; three great-granddaughters of Ironton, MO; youngest son, John Hutto of San Francisco, CA; sister, Sue Ann Burke of Strafford, MO; and her best friend, whom she loved as a sister, Kathy Nicoletti.
