Gerldean Faye Carter, daughter of Clinton Christopher Woolsey and Cora Senora (Miller) Woolsey, was born June 17, 1933, in Eminence, Missouri, and departed this life October 27, 2023, at Ozark Nursing and Care Center in Ozark, Missouri, at the age of 90 years, 4 months, and 10 days.
Gerldean moved with her family to Ava, Missouri, where she graduated from Ava High School.
On January 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Russell Carter and to this union three sons were born.
She worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield for many years. She then went to nursing school where she received a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She worked for St. John’s Hospital for several years and then went into home healthcare until she retired.
Bill and Gerldean attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mansfield, Missouri.
In her spare time, she enjoyed going to Silver Dollar City with the grandchildren, music shows in Branson, shopping, and family get-togethers. She was always the life of the party and loved to make others laugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Dewaine Woolsey and Darrell Woolsey, and a sister, Nelma Lister.
Gerldean is survived by her sons, Danny Carter and wife, Becky, of Rogers, Arkansas, Steve Carter and wife, Robin, of Johns Creek, Georgia, and Rusty Carter and wife, Becky, of Nixa, Missouri; grandchildren, Jennifer Buckley and husband, Kyle, of Frisco, Texas, Nicholas Carter of Rogers, Arkansas, Christopher Carter and Miranda Carter of Johns Creek, Georgia, Hailey Carter of Springfield, Missouri, and Maeson Carter of Nixa, Missouri; sisters, Lavon Carter of Ava, Missouri, and Linda Bass of Diggins, Missouri, brothers, Larry Woolsey of Ava, Missouri, and Donnie Woolsey of Rogers, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
