Helen Ruth Taber

Helen Ruth Taber, 84, was born November 16, 1939, in Pottersville, Missouri, to Andrew and Hazel (Robinson) Cochran. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and passed from this life on December 6, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri.

She was united in marriage on May 19, 1958, to Al Ray Taber, and to this union, two children, Cindy and Andy, were born. She completed the 8th grade and was employed at Richard’s Brothers grocery store in Mountain View, Missouri, for 32 years. She was known as Miss Ruth to most and Nanaw to all of her grandchildren.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Hazel Cochran; her husband, Al Ray Taber; sisters, Fern Louise Hawkins, Edna Lucille Javaux, and Wilma Jean Landers Winn.

Survivors include her children, Cindy (Dean) Gastineau, Andy (Judy) Taber all of Mountain View, MO; sister, Nancy Ann Bryan of Pomona, MO; grandchildren, Chad (Betty) Borgman of OK, Brandy Borgman (Camrin) Southworth of Mountain View, MO, and Garrett Taber of Mountain View, MO; great-grandchildren, Haylee Borgman Summers of West Plains, MO, McKenzie Cobble of Summersville, MO, Montana Borgman and Briar Borgman of Birch Tree, MO, Conner Taber of Springfield, MO, Codi Southworth (Lane Hite), and Chelsea Southworth of Willard, MO; great-great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Kate Summers and Ryker Hite.

Although Ruth is no longer with us physically, her spirit will forever remain a beacon of love and inspiration to all her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May her loved ones find comfort in the cherished memories they hold dear.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Calvin Woolsey officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 6-8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.
