Hervel Dean Graham, 82 years, 8 months, 15 days old, passed away on October 25, 2023 at his home in Ava, Missouri.
He was born in Sweden, Missouri on February 10, 1941 to Alva Cook and Alta Graham. As a boy he attended Rosewood school in the Sweden area, and he started milking cows when he was twelve years old.
Hervel and Linda Burchell were united in marriage on December 10, 1994, in Ava, Missouri.
He worked at Heath and Sons as a mill operator for over thirty-seven years with his sons Billy and Lonnie.
Hervel enjoyed gardening, growing tomatoes, picking blackberries and canning. He loved going to dances and dancing with the ladies who didn’t have a partner. Hervel loved farming, and after he retired he cut hay with Kirby Fossett. Picking up rocks was a favorite hobby of his especially if his family and kids were with him. Hervel could captivate you with his storytelling.
Hervel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; his daughter, Carolyn Woolsey and his son, Lonnie Rippee.
Hervel is survived by his children, Debra Graham, William “Billy” Graham; his sisters Pauline Pruitt (Johnny) of Moline, Illinois, Pauletta Baker (Dale) of Buffalo, Missouri, and Linda Bradley of Joplin, Missouri.
Funeral services for Hervel will be at Sweden Church, on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Sweden Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Moore. Memorials may be made to Sweden Cemetery.
