Iris Victoria Gilbert was born in Houston, Missouri on October 2, 1960, the daughter of Alice Molene (Warren) Gilbert and Willie A. Gilbert. She passed away on August 11, 2020 at the age of 59.
As a child, she was always full of fun and had a happy smile. She attended school in Eminence. After college, she worked for many years as a case worker at the Eminence Social Service office. Her workstation was easily recognized, as it was the one with the most holiday decorations, no matter which holiday it was.
She enjoyed raising chickens, her dogs, working in the yard, crafting, shopping, and reading. She spent many enjoyable hours going to flea markets and yard sales looking for good bargains and treasures.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by sisters, Sandra Dillard and husband, Johnny Wayne, of Eminence, MO, Kay Dale and husband, Randy, of Republic, MO, Kathy Bailey and husband, Allen, of Sullivan, MO, Annie Gilbert of Eminence, MO; brother, Allen Gilbert of Eminence, MO; four nieces; four nephews; five grandnieces; and three grand nephews.
She will be sadly missed by her friends who knew her, and family who loved her.
