Irland Benjamin Crites, age 90 0f Alton, MO was born June 13, 1934, near Royal Oak, MO and passed away February 3, 2025, in Rolla, MO.
He was married to Charlene Pinegar in 1958. To this union two daughters were born, Bobby and Becky Crites.
Survivors include daughter Becky Neal, two grandchildren Chris Neal and wife Olivia, Courtney Mills, four great-grandchildren, Nolan, Viviana, Maddox and Maylee, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt Crites and Willie Walker Crites, daughter Bobby Crites, two brothers Garland and Burl Crites, four sisters Dorothy Presley, Sadie Sisco, Opal Martin and Ethel Parrott.
Irland was a very hard worker, owing several businesses through the years. He liked to travel, watching stock car races, farming and horseback riding with his daughters. He was a big tease with all the nieces and nephews, all the way through the great nieces and nephews. He loved to tell stories about his family and friends, mostly of his girls and grandkids. He was loved by all.
Services will be at Noon Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with Bro. Garry Mathes officiating, burial in the Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, 10:00am until service time.
