Irma Maxine Stewart, the daughter of Wendall Marshal Jones and Tena Hazel Jones was born August 10, 1940 in Holly, CO.
Her family moved from Holly, CO to Wasola, MO when she was a young girl. She graduated from Ava High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to Buell Voyne Stewart on February 26, 1960 and they lived in Springfield, MO. In August 1960 they moved to Independence, MO.
She was employed by Hallmark Cards for several years. In March 1969 she had her daughter, Deidra Anne and in July 1972 she had her son, Brian Voyne. She was active in her church; teaching Sunday School and was a homemaker. She also worked for the Blue Springs School system for several years. She enjoyed reading and needlework of all kinds. Her favorite activity was quilting.
She and Buell enjoyed their retirement until June 2022 when she was placed in Live Care Center of Grandview. On Sunday, March 5, 2023, Irma Maxine Stewart passed at Life Care Center of Grandview.
She was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters and her parents. Surviving family includes her husband, Buell Voyne Stewart of Blue Springs, MO, 2 children, Deidra (Richard) Anderson of Clever, MO and Brian (Natalie) Stewart of Blue Springs, MO, 2 grandchildren – Savannah Stewart and Sadie Stewart; and her youngest sister Gloria (Gary) Evans of Green Cove Springs, FL and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Calvary Baptist Church 900 NW 22nd St. Blue Springs, MO 64015. Local arrangements entrusted with the Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Following the visitation, Mrs. Stewart’s body will be transported to the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, MO.
